About Us
Look Gallery is a small, totally independent art gallery in the pretty Market town of Helmsley in North Yorkshire. We've been around for a long time, over thirty years in fact, and we still pride ourselves on bringing the best art to you, it doesn't have to be local, just great. We have a really exciting mix of contemporary and traditional work to suit almost any taste. Our ever-changing range includes paintings, photographs, etchings, sculpture, ceramics and stoneware that keep our customers coming back year after year.
We're a really small but friendly team and we're here to help! Hilary and Tabitha hand pick and hang the work to make sure t's just right. With a little help from the rest of the team, Carol and Mary, we do our best to make sure that your experience in the gallery is a good one.
We're always very happy to discuss the work with you, or even how nice (or not!) the weather is, we're a chatty bunch. And if you have any queries, we'll do our best to help. If we don't know the answer straight away, we'll do our best to find out.
The Hon. Jan Needham set up the gallery with one main goal, to make art accessible to all, and that remains the same today. We really don't mind if you would just like to come round for a look, art is there to be looked at and enjoyed after all. If you do see something you really like, but can't necessarily stretch to, that's ok too. We have a system called deferred terms, which means you can stretch out your payments with no interest to pay at all. See below for more info.
We welcome everyone into our gallery (including our canine friends) and we really look forward to welcoming you too.

Deferred Terms
Seen something you really love, but don't think you can quite stretch to the price tag? All is not lost!
At Look Gallery, we have always been passionate about making art as accessible as possible, that's why, way before any national schemes were introduced, we started to offer our own Deferred Terms scheme, and still do to this day.
When you come to the gallery, you'll see on each sales card for pieces over £100 that you have the option to pay an initial payment on the day of purchase followed by four, five or ten monthly payments, depending on the price of the item.
All the payments are totally interest free and will leave your account via standing order, making it that little bit easier to purchase the art you love.
